Open Access Policy
Open Access Policy – AXIS Journal of Social Sciences (AJSS)
1. Open access statement
AXIS Journal of Social Sciences (AJSS) is a fully open access journal. All content is available free of charge to readers, immediately upon publication, with no embargo and no registration or subscription required. The journal follows the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of open access: users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, and use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.
2. Licence
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0). Anyone may share and adapt the work for any purpose, including commercial use, provided appropriate credit is given, a link to the licence is provided, and any changes are indicated. The licence is stated on each article page and in the article metadata.
3. Copyright
Authors retain copyright of their articles and grant the International Association for Social Research Dynamics (IASRD) a non-exclusive licence to publish the article and to be identified as its original publisher. Copyright terms applying to published content are separate from those applying to the journal website.
4. Fees
The journal charges no article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees for articles published in its inaugural issues (2026). From 1 January 2027, an APC applies to accepted articles only, based on the World Bank income group of the corresponding author's country of affiliation: USD 150 (high-income), USD 100 (upper-middle-income), USD 60 (lower-middle-income) and USD 30 (low-income, with a full waiver available on request). Authors without funding, including students and early-career researchers, may request a partial or full waiver. Fees are never linked to the editorial decision; they are requested only after acceptance. Full details: Fees and Waiver Policy.
5. Self-archiving
Authors may deposit any version of their article (submitted, accepted or published) in institutional or subject repositories and on personal or institutional websites, at any time and without embargo, provided a link to the published article is included.
6. Reuse, text and data mining
Full texts and metadata may be crawled and mined for any lawful purpose under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 licence.
7. Digital preservation
The journal is preparing long-term preservation through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). Deposits will begin once the journal's ISSN has been assigned, and this section will be updated when the arrangement is active.
8. Article identifiers and metadata
Article metadata is openly available through the journal's OAI-PMH interface and is supplied to indexing services where the journal is listed.
